“The Golden Horn” refers to the bay that separates Istanbul’s Historic Peninsula from the Beyoğlu district. Created by the flow of both the Kağıthane and Alibey ravines into the sea, owing to the fertile land surrounding it, the plenitude of fish, fresh water ravines and its interesting shape, this area was nicknamed “the Golden Horn.”
